Additional MK 1 DLC characters revealed at Comic Con
The trailer above was one of three that arrived during San Diego Comic Con. However, a third trailer didn’t make it online yet. It features three additional characters: Motaro, Nitara, and Reiko.
Three more characters appeared in a third trailer during San Diego Comic Con. That trailer video has yet to arrive online, but reports indicate Motaro, Nitara, and Reiko are the three characters.
Motaro is the four-legged Centaurian that debuted in Mortal Kombat 3, while Nitara is the winged vampire first seen in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Reiko was in the Mortal Kombat 4 game and came from the Outworld.
These three characters were also part of Mortal Kombat 11. As of this report, it’s unknown if Motaro, Nitara, and Reiko will appear as roster or Kameo fighters. It’s also possible they’ll only be part of the game’s story.
Mortal Kombat 1 available for pre-order
Mortal Kombat 1 has an official release date of Tuesday, September 19, for Sony’s PlayStation 5, Microsoft’s Xbox Series X, and the Nintendo Switch. Three versions are available for the game, including the $59.99 Standard Version and $109.99 Premium Edition.
The premium edition (below) includes a playable Shang Tsung character and access to the Mortal Kombat 1 Beta, allowing gamers to play the game on Thursday, September 14, instead of the 19th.
The game’s base roster includes many favorites from over the years of MK games. Johnny Cage, Kung Lao, Liu Kang, Raiden, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Smoke, and Shang Tsung are among them.
Kameo fighters make special appearances during fights to help playable characters out. Some confirmed Kameo characters are Cyrax, Goro, Kano, Jax Briggs, Sektor, Sonya Blade, and Stryker.
